Cute Fabrics

There is something about the colors from the 1930's and 1940's that I am drawn to.  I just love the fabrics from that time.  Here are some that I like!

This one reminds me of bubbles...The tone of green is gorgeous!  Its a fun pattern.

I like the blue background.  Very cheerful.  No gloominess here!  A summer dress made of this material would be sweet!

Tiny geometrics with tiny roses.  I can see this as cafe curtains tied with red ribbon in a retro red kitchen.  It would give the room a cozy feminine feel.  Laying on the kitchen table are the cooking tools with red wooden handles.

To ArtFire...or Not to ArtFire

ArtFire is running an awesome deal...and I am wavering on whether I should open up a shop there.  I would love to be totally off ebay one day.

I really like the set up on ArtFire and I really like their thinking.  They don't mind if you link any of your other shops to your store.  But the main question is...Does anybody shop there?  I haven't yet.  But during the Christmas shopping season, I am going to take a look around.

If you do have a shop there...what do you think of it?

The Beginning!

I first started selling on ebay and then branched out to rubylane.  Now I also sell on etsy.  I have walls of vintage fabric and have found that etsy is a great place for these fabrics.

Some of these fabrics are hard to sell because I want to use them myself...BUT I need to relearn to sew.  I haven't sewn with a machine since seventh grade.  Etsy inspires me to want to learn to sew...but with five children, 30+ mostly rescue farm animals, a farmhouse that needs renovating and several online shops, I have very little time for sewing.  Instead I have project piles for the days I start sewing again.

What you don't see are the walls of damask tablecloths, doilies, sheets and pillowcases.  I'll save that for another post.
